Core Program

EmpowerU

EmpowerU is the foundation of everything we do. This program builds essential human skills — emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and communication — that every future opportunity depends on.

Students who complete EmpowerU leave with not just knowledge, but the mindset and behavioral tools to navigate challenges, build relationships, and pursue their goals with real confidence.

Effective Communication

Master interpersonal communication to build relationships and navigate professional environments with confidence.

Conflict Resolution

Structured frameworks for de-escalating disputes and finding solutions that preserve relationships and dignity.

Emotional Intelligence

Self-awareness, empathy, and emotional regulation — the skills that determine long-term personal and professional success.

Personal Resilience

Mental frameworks to bounce back from setbacks, maintain perspective under pressure, and persist toward goals.

Critical Thinking

Problem-solving and logical reasoning to approach challenges with clarity and creative, practical solutions.

Community Accountability

Understanding personal responsibility — how individual choices affect families, neighborhoods, and futures.

How It Works
1

Assessment & Onboarding

Students are assessed and matched with the right cohort and facilitator for their learning style and specific challenges.

2

Weekly Workshop Sessions

Interactive group sessions build skills through real scenarios, role-playing, and peer discussion — not lectures.

3

Individual Goal Setting

Each student creates a personal roadmap with short and long-term goals, tracked with a dedicated advisor.

4

Graduation & Continuation

Graduates advance to Artechulit or B.Y.D.S. and can return as peer leaders for incoming students.

EmpowerU taught me life skills I use every single day. I feel more confident and genuinely prepared for whatever comes next.

Financial & Career

Artechulit

Artechulit is our financial literacy and career preparation program — the bridge between classroom learning and the professional world. The program leads every student to a real, paid internship where they apply everything learned.

From budgeting basics to resume crafting to interview confidence, Artechulit gives students tangible economic tools that open real doors to opportunity.

Financial Literacy

Understand money — how to earn it, budget it, save it, invest it, and protect it. Real-world exercises with real stakes.

Budgeting & Saving

Practical budgeting frameworks students apply to their own income — building lasting financial habits.

Job Search Strategy

Where to look, how to apply, and how to position yourself ahead of the competition in a real job market.

Resume & Cover Letter

Build a professional resume from scratch with targeted cover letters and personalized feedback from reviewers.

Interview Preparation

Mock interviews, body language coaching, and question frameworks that turn nervous applicants into confident candidates.

Internship Placement

Every Artechulit participant is placed with a partner employer for a paid internship — skills put into real action.

Mentorship

B.Y.D.S. — Before You Do Something

Our most personal program. One-on-one mentorship that works directly with students at highest risk — and with individuals currently incarcerated who mentor from inside correctional facilities.

The name says everything: a trusted voice saying "wait, think, and talk to someone" before a single moment of poor judgment changes a young person's entire life trajectory.

One-on-One Mentorship

Each student is paired with a dedicated mentor who meets regularly and provides consistent, trust-based guidance.

Prison-to-School Bridge

Incarcerated mentors share real experiences — consequences of poor decisions — in a way no classroom lesson can.

In-School Mentorship

Mentors work within school environments, accessible when students need guidance most — not just after hours.

Crisis Intervention

When students face critical decision points, B.Y.D.S. mentors provide immediate, non-judgmental support and redirection.

Family Engagement

Mentors work to strengthen the student's home environment — sustainable change requires a supportive foundation.

Long-Term Accountability

Relationships don't end at graduation — mentors stay connected as students transition to post-secondary life.

The Mentorship Journey
1

Referral & Matching

Students are referred by schools or community partners and carefully matched based on background and needs.

2

Relationship Building

The first phase is entirely about trust — consistent meetings, shared experiences, no agenda beyond genuine connection.

3

Goal-Oriented Guidance

Once trust is established, mentor and student set meaningful goals together and build a roadmap toward them.

4

Ongoing Community

Mentorship continues beyond the formal program — students are invited to become mentors themselves as they grow.

316 Work gave me the kind of honest guidance I never had access to. It changed everything about how I see my own future.

— Emily Johnson, High School Graduate
