Our History

The journey of 3:16 Working On Redefining Kids began with a vision from God—one that would shape the course of my life and ignite a passion to make a difference.  Initially, my heart was set on creating a nonprofit focused on reentry services, helping individuals transition back into society after incarceration.  However, as I spent more time in prayer and reflection, the Lord gave me a new, powerful vision: to focus on underserved youth and lay a solid foundation for their futures.

I realized that the key to preventing future incarceration and empowering youth was not just about offering a second chance, but about offering them the tools, connections, and relationships they need from the start.  I was called to help redefine what it means to be an underserved youth, equipping them with life skills, confidence, and a strong support network to guide them toward success.

Stepping out in faith, I trusted God’s direction, even though it was uncertain.  I knew that if I followed His call, He would provide the way.  And so, 3:16 Working On Redefining Kids was born—a place where young people are given the opportunity to thrive, build meaningful relationships, and have the tools to change the trajectory of their lives.

The name “3:16” comes from John 3:16, a scripture many of the youth learned in Sunday school at an early age.  It serves as a constant reminder that “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.  This verse embodies the hope, love, and redemption we seek to share with every young person we serve, reminding them of their worth and the great love that has already been given to them.

Our calling is to empower underserved youth, build their confidence, and help them realize that they are not defined by their circumstances.  They are destined for greatness, and we are here to support them every step of the way.

By stepping out on faith, trusting God’s plan, and relying on His strength, we are creating a pipeline to success that breaks the cycle of incarceration and opens doors to opportunity and hope.
